May 15th schedule update from tourmeister Ron Harshman:
I have cancelled the block of rooms at the Windermere Manor in London, Ont for October 1, and have blocked a set of rooms at Retro Suites in Chathatm/Kent Ontario for that evening. Reservations at Retro-Suites can be made by calling 519-351-5885 and identifying yourself as with the Mercedes-Benz Club. Rates range from $109 to $139 per night depending on room type requested. If you need to be near the elevator or cannot climb stairs, identify your need when making the reservation.
After a welcome dinner in Cleveland the tour begins the next morning with a drive to the Toledo area where you can visit the Marblehead Lighthouse and enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Maumee River. The next day is a short drive to Dearborn, MI where you can enjoy many historic venues including the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. The tour continues to London, Ontario, where you can see Pelee Point and visit the RM Classic Car Exhibit and Restoration Facility. You will have an opportunity to see all the sights including a ride on The Maid of the Mist during a 2-day stop in the Niagara Falls area, followed by travels through Buffalo, NY and Erie, PA. The tour concludes in Ashtabula, OH with a “good-bye” dinner at the lodge on Geneva-on-the-Lake.
