On Sunday, March 8th at 2:30pm the Western Reserve Section will attend the highly acclaimed musical “Memphis” followed by dinner at the nearby Papa Joe’s Restaurant at 5:30. This Italian family restaurant has been in Akron since 1932, and features authentic southern Italian cuisine.
From the underground dance clubs of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee, comes the Tony- and Olivier Award-winning musical that bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love. Memphis is about a white radio DJ in the 1950’s who wants to change the world and a black club singer who is ready for her big break. Come along on their incredible journey to the ends of the airwaves — filled with laughter, soaring emotion, and roof-raising rock ‘n’ roll.
The cost of the event is $23 per person with dinner charged separately. Our reserved seats are the best in the playhouse and tickets will be held at the door for pickup.
