Join us on Saturday, April 16th from 1:00-4:00 for our first-ever educational and fun look at one of the often-neglected items on your Mercedes-Benz—the transmission.
Clinic attendees will receive a wealth of information on both vintage and contemporary manual and automatic transmissions including tips on:
- Recommended care and maintenance of your transmission
- Recognizing less than optimal performance—and coordinating transmission and engine functions to maximize performance and efficiency
- Transmission removal and installation
- A hands-on look at internal transmission components—clutches, bands, valve body, etc.
- External control functions including mechanical, electrical, and vacuum control components
- Rebuild or replace—which is best for me?
Our clinic is hosted by TransColonial Auto Service (8228 E. Washington St., Chagrin Falls 44023)
We are fortunate to have nationally-and locally-known transmission experts as presenters:
- Rick Basta, owner of TransColonial Auto Service, who has decades of experience repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining Mercedes-Benz transmissions.
- Mike Riley, Technical Editor of the Transmission Digest and the author of numerous transmission industry articles and manuals
- Ted Gottfried, WRS Technical Director, who will detail the process involved in updating a vintage 4 speed manual to a contemporary 5 speed for improved vehicle performance and efficiency.
Registration is $10 per person and includes a variety of information hand-outs and light refreshments.
