The 2014 Northeast Ohio Fall Leaf Tour, a MBCA Great Lakes Regional Event, is presented by the Western Reserve Section, Mercedes Benz Club of America. This is a three-day driving tour that will go through the northeast quadrant of Ohio and cross into the panhandle of West Virginia. Most roads will be 2-lane highways and incorporate several of Ohio’s Scenic Byways.
While our dinners and event stops will require being time-certain, participants will tour at their own pace and on their own schedule. Spend as much time or as little time as you desire at the various stops along the way.
Our stops will be interesting and not always seen by the everyday tourist. A husband-wife team developed this tour for you. Don and Carol Velcio’s varied interests were used to balance the roads, the driving, and the stops to satisfy everyone in your group.
The tour begins on Friday, October 17th with a kickoff breakfast at The Orchard House Restaurant at Mapleside Farms, 294 Pearl Road, Brunswick, OH. The group will depart at 10:00 am to head south to Malabar Farm for a private tour of “The Big House” at noon. AFter the tour, the drive continues through the scenic Mohican State Park with a leisurely stop for lunch on your own in the Loudonville area. You’ll continue through Glenmont and Killbuck to the Hershberger Farm and Bakery in Charm. Don’t forget to try the fry pies! The day ends at The Amish Door Inn and Village in Wilmot. An Amish-style dinner at the Amish Door is included in your tour registration.
Saturday begins with a 20 minute drive to The Farm at Walnut Creek where you will get a chance to feed and experience a variety of exotic animals while taking a horse drawn wagon ride through a working farm. The tour begins at 9:30 a.m. Then it’s on to stop 2–the American Gas Pump Heaven Museum in Dover is a treasure trove of automobila, nostalgia, and Americana. Roger, the founder of the non-profit museum, will give us his special tour and will have a special surprise for those who may think the museum is only for “the boys” who love to talk about their cars. The ladies will enjoy this part as much or more than the men. It is a trip down memory lane! Starting time is 1:00 pm. It’s about a 30 minute drive from The Farm that will take longer if you stop in Sugarcreek along the way. Note – lunch on your own today, best found in or near Dover or New Philadelphia. We suggest Sammy Sue’s BBQ across the street from the Gas Pump Museum. It’s not much to look at, but it is finger lickin’ good. The final stop for the day is the Oglebay Resort and Conference Center in Wheeling, WV. Oglebay offers 1,700 acres of year-round recreational opportunities and excellent overnight accommodations while retaining its picturesque natural beauty. A fabulous dinner buffet at Oglebay is included in your tour registration. Come hungry!
Sunday breakfast is on your own at Oglebay or nearby. Don’t eat too much, though. We will have a nice lunch later. The drive to our destination today will be a relaxing drive primarily on US-250 and OH-39. Our only stop is Sunday’s destination, The Inn at Honey Run near Millersburg. As their website says, “The Inn at Honey Run is a serene oasis of nature and wildlife, comfort and privacy, casual upscale dining and warm hospitality. Located in Holmes County, within two hours of Cleveland and Columbus, this boutique country inn offers a tranquil retreat, the perfect destination to regain harmony and balance.” Where better to say our goodbyes after enjoying the scenery, driving, and companionship that we find on an MBCA tour? Lunch at the Inn is included in your tour registration.
Not able to participate on the entire tour? Join the tour on Saturday to visit The Farm at Walnut Creek and tour the American Gas Pump Heaven Museum. Continue with the group as far as you wish and head home at your leisure.

We are members of the NORPCA and noticed that our Northeast PCA club will be participating with the Mercedes Benz club on the upcoming October Leaf Tour.
My wife and I would like to register for the Fall Leaf Tour and possible pay using pay pal but not sure how to find pay pal on your website?
I will complete and sign the registration form and mail it in today.
We have not participated in a combined club tour in the past. How many cars of Mercedes and Porsche’s are expected in a tour such as this one?
