Old Car Fun Day 2012 August 25th

Join us on Saturday, August 25th from 11:00-3:00 for our 6th annual Old Car Fun Day hosted by WRS Board Member Rod Thompson in Hunting Valley.   This event is focused on Mercedes-Benz models of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, but all years and models are welcome at this popular event.  So what is Old Cars Fun Day about?  The event was originally created by section members Bill VerDuin and Dick Gortz to encourage participation by owners of older Mercedes-Benz models that we don’t often get a chance to see.  In the past owners of these cars would say that “My car is not nice enough to be in a concours–I would be embarrassed to show it”, so the event was developed  to create an opportunity for those owners to showcase their cars.

Old Car Fun Day is a forum for owners and enthusiasts to meet each other and chat about their experiences as drivers and owners of older M-Bs.  If you have a question or are experiencing a problem with your car, this is a great opportunity to get answers from the group.  It is also a great venue to share recommendations for sources of repairs and parts.

This year we are fortunate to have 2 local experts on hand to help us. George Kozak will do a workshop on interior restoration with a special focus on leather and wood restoration and preservation, and Chuck Widemire, a Mercedes-Benz factory trained technician knowledgeable about both vintage and contemporary vehicles will field questions on technical topics.

Don’t have an oldie? Come anyway!  Old Car Fun Day is open to cars, MBCA members, and Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts of all vintages–both newer and older.

Registration is $18 per person and includes a luncheon of pulled pork , cole slaw, soft drinks, and beer. Directions are included in the event flyer below.  For more information, contact Rod Thompson.
