All Aboard for the MBCA Western Reserve Fall Leaf Tour 2010 featuring Ashtabula County Covered Bridges & an AC&J Scenic Pumpkin Train Ride!
We will meet in the McDonald’s parking lot at I-90 & 534 (exit 218 off I-90 east) near Geneva, Ohio in time for a departure at 1:00PM. We will then tour Ashtabula county enjoying the fall leaves, some covered bridges and a stop along the way for cider, donuts, and viewing each other’s cars on our way to the Ashtabula, Carson, & Jefferson depot in Jefferson. We’ll board the 1920s vintage railroad coaches for a scenic one hour Pumpkin Train tour of the area. The train will return to the depot around 4:00 p.m.
We’ll finish the driving portion of our tour with dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube, a car nut’s paradise in Mentor where we will have a special MBCA parking area. Eat under full sized cars suspended from the ceiling and mounted on the walls. It’s a burger, wings and fries kind of place, so if your cholesterol has been too low, here’s a chance to get it back up where it belongs! Order off the menu and pay your own at the diner—we will get special leaf tour discounts too! We should be on our way home by 6:30.
Cost is $15 per person which includes the train trip & goodies.
Invite the kids, grand kids or friends along for the fun.
To get to our meeting point at McDonald’s (1807 S. Broadway, Geneva, OH 44041), take I-90 east from Cleveland to exit 218. Turn left (north) at the exit and McDonalds will be on your left. We will meet in the parking area in the rear of the restaurant.
